Abstract
A fixing apparatus of the invention includes a pressure rollerand a fixing rollerthat make press-contact with each other and an oil rollerthat makes press-contact with either the pressure rolleror the fixing roller, and passes a recording sheet through a nip area between the pressure rollerand the fixing rollerto fix toner on the recording sheet. The fixing apparatus also includes: a pressure roller gearand an oil roller gearthat transmit a rotation of a shaft of the pressure rollerthat makes press-contact with the oil rollerto a shaft of the oil roller; and a one-way clutchthat causes the oil rollerto idly rotate in a direction of a driven rotation when the oil rolleris driven to rotate by pressing against the pressure roller
