A pusher-occlusive coil delivery assemblythat is advanced through a microcatheterto the desired vascular site within a patient. The delivery assemblyincludes a pushwirewhich interlocks with the occlusive coilwhich can be manipulated to detach the occlusive coil. When the assemblyis positioned at the site, the pushwireis advanced to allow the interlock jointto move out of the delivery sleeveto uncouple the pushwireand the occlusive coil
