Abstract
An uncoupling element shields against structure-borne sound, especially for the exhaust pipe of internal combustion engines in motor vehicles. The uncoupling element includes a bellows () made of metal and a ring-shaped damping element () made of a lightweight composite. The damping element has particle-filled hollow steel spheres inserted at least one end of the bellows between the bellows end and a continuing pipeline.
