Abstract
A water-soluble metalworking fluid contains: at least either one of (A) a block polyalkylene glycol represented by formula (1): HO(EO)—(PO)-(EO)H, and (B) a polyalkylene glycol monoether represented by formula (2): RO(R'O)H; and (C) an alkanolamine fatty acid salt, in which EO represents —CHCHO — and PO represents —CH(CH)CHO— or —CHCH(CH)O—; each unit of (EO), (PO)and (EO)is block-bonded; a and c each is an integer of 1 to 30 and b is an integer of 5 to 100; R represents an alkyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms and R′O represents PO or EO; mole fraction of EO is less than 100%; and d is an integer of 1 or 50.
