Abstract
A fluorescent screen includes phosphor regions-R,-G, diffusion region-B and reflecting meansformed on a region that includes phosphor regions-R and-G and diffusion region-B. Reflecting meansincludes fluorescent light reflecting layer, phase difference layer, and polarizing layerdeposited in that order. Fluorescent light reflecting layertransmits excited lightand reflects fluorescent light from phosphor regions-R and-G. Polarizing layerboth transmits excited lightand, of diffused light of the excited light () that was entered from diffusion region_B through Phase difference layer, transmits TM polarized light and reflects TE polarized light.
