Abstract

The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus, a method, and a program capable of suppressing deterioration of content quality. An integrated reception buffer time adjustment unitobtains a maximum transmission delay time that is the longest delay time among the transmission delays of data transmission performed by each reception unit. The reception buffer time setting unitcalculates a reception buffer time using the maximum transmission delay time, a transmission delay time of the data transmission by the reception unit, and a prescribed reception buffer time. The reception buffer time setting unitsets various delay times and waiting times such as a variable compression encoding delay time, a redundant encoding block reception waiting time, an ARQ retransmission packet waiting time, and a network jitter handling buffer time from the reception buffer time. The present invention can be applied to an information processing apparatus, for example.
