Abstract

A negative electrode active material for lithium ion secondary batteries of the present invention includes a lithium-titanium composite oxide that has a composition represented by LiTiFeO(where x satisfies 0<x≦0.3) or LiTiMnO(where y satisfies 0<y≦0.3) and that has an average particle diameter of primary particles which is not less than 1 μm.
