Abstract
A compound having the moiety M-[(C≡C)-M']. Each M and each M′ is a transition metal. Each n is 1 or 2, and m is 2 or more. A method of reacting a transition metal halide with 1,2-dilithioacetylene or 1,4-dilithiodiacetylene to form a transition metal compound.
