Abstract
A device and a method for preventing vibrations () in a rotating spindle () mounted in at least one frontand one rear bearing () in a machine tool, wherein the device comprises measuring units () for detecting the vibrations () and correction device () for preventing the vibrations () disposed directly about the periphery () of the spindle () in a contacting or non-contacting manner and that a control unit () for processing the measuring units () and for calculating the correction values for the correction device () is assigned to this device.
