A game apparatusA includes: a registration information storage sectionthat stores pieces of individual information about game apparatusesregistered as communication partners, with which the game apparatusA communicates, and pieces of distinguishing information, about the game apparatuses, associated with the pieces of individual information; a connection determination sectionthat determines whether a game apparatusB, corresponding to one of the stored pieces of individual information, is connected to a server device; a first acquisition sectionthat acquires, when the game apparatusB is connected to the server device, a piece of individual information about a game apparatusC communicating with the game apparatusB; and a communication state display sectionthat visibly displays, based on the pieces of individual information, communication states of the game apparatusB and the game apparatusC associated with each other.
