Abstract
Provided are a light source device that can effectively cool a surface side of a light-emitting element substrate, and a projection type display device that includes the same. The light source device includes substrate (), light-emitting element (), optical element (), and optical element support member (). Two through-holes () are formed in substrate (). Light-emitting element () is mounted on substrate (). Optical element support member () is located to surround two through-holes () and light-emitting element (), and forms, with substrate (), flow path () that passes through light exit surface () of light-emitting element (). Each through-hole () and flow path () are connected to each other.
