Abstract
A thermal ink jet ink composition includes one or more volatile organic solvents, one or more solvent dyes, and one or more humectants. The one or more volatile organic solvents are selected from C-Calcohols, C-Cethers, C-Cketones, C-Cesters, and mixtures thereof. The one or more solvent dyes are soluble in the organic solvent or solvents with a solubility of at least 0.1% by weight. The thermal ink jet ink composition is free or substantially free of tetrahydrofuran, binder resin, and water.
