Abstract

An acoustic drumhas a hollow cylindrical shell, a drumheadmounted to an opening end of the shellto form a striking surface, a striking surface attachmentprovided on the entire surface of a useful movable portion of the front side of the drumhead, and a striking surface attachmentprovided on the entire surface of a useful movable portion of the reverse side of the drumhead. Each of the striking surface attachmentsandis formed of a resin film, with respective outer areas of the striking surface attachmentsandbeing fixed to the drumhead. As a result, the acoustic drumcan reduce sound volume, while maintaining struck sounds having brightness and providing a player with favorable feeling of striking.
