Abstract

The present invention relates to a compound having a 2-fluorophenyloxymethane structure and useful for organic electronic materials and medical and agricultural chemicals, particularly materials for liquid crystal display elements. A problem to be solved by the invention is to provide a compound having relatively large Δ∈, relatively high T, low viscosity (η), and high miscibility with other liquid crystal compounds, and also provide a liquid crystal composition containing the compound as a constituent component. The present invention provides a compound having a 2-fluorophenyloxymethane structure and also provides a liquid crystal composition containing the compound and a liquid crystal display device using the liquid crystal composition.
