Abstract
The invention relates to a device () for handling notes of value, comprising a sensor unit () for detection of at least one feature of each note of value, and a control unit () which classifies the notes of value into accepted notes of value and sheet-shaped media to be returned, dependent on the feature to be detected by the sensor unit (). A sorting gate () is arranged downstream the sensor unit (), wherein the control unit () controls the sorting gate () to supply notes of value classified as accepted notes of value to a first intermediate storage (), and notes of value classified as sheet-shaped media to be returned to a second intermediate storage ().
