Abstract

A gripping device for gripping a cable and having a first jaw with a first gripping element, a second jaw with a second gripping element, and at least one fastener for fastening the first and second jaws to each other. At least one of the first and second gripping elements has a configuration that makes at least two points of contact with the cable. A system for gripping a cable and having a gripping device fastened to a support structure, where the gripping device has a first jaw with a first gripping element, a second jaw with a second gripping element, and at least one fastener for fastening the first and second jaws to each other.
