CIP2A mRNA or protein can both serve as reliable biomarkers. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a combined use of CIP2A with at least one additional biomarker selected from the group consisting of Ki67, TOP2A, MCM2, MCM5, p14and p16, to better serve as a detection means for cervical cancer. The present invention provides a reliable and accurate assay methods and compositions which may be used for detecting cervical cancer in an individual with a high sensitivity and specificity.
