Abstract

A cage for a ball bearing unit comprises two half-cages () which are connected to each other and are symmetrical about a mid-plane (P) of the bearing. Each half-cage has an annular body () providing two concentric and circumferentially continuous radial ridges () extending radially in opposite directions, of which the first ridge () extends in a radially outward direction for sealingly engaging a groove () formed in the outer ring of the bearing unit, and the second ridge () extends in a radially inward direction for sealingly engaging a groove () formed in the inner ring of the bearing unit.
