Abstract
A screen has a plurality of flattened wires. The wires are arranged longitudinally in a first direction, and of those wires there are first and second flattened wires are spaced a predetermined distance from each other or contact or appear to contact each other at spaced intervals to form a polygonic spacing to form a desired screen spacing. The deviation from the desired screen spacing is equal to or less than the standard industry tolerance as established by ASTM E2016-11, table 8. A first and second polymeric support member homogenously encase, respectively, a first and second limited selected portions of the plurality of flattened wires spaced apart. There is no additional metal material in, within, or on the first or second polymeric support members, and the desired screen spacing is maintained even when the first and second polymeric support members are applied and cured.
