Abstract

The present invention provides a method for producing an amide compound from a nitrile compound using a biocatalyst that realizes low cost, energy saving and low environmental burdens. The production method of the amide compound of the present invention is a method for producing an amide compound from a nitrile compound using a biocatalyst in a reactor, wherein the nitrile compound is reacted with the biocatalyst to produce the amide compound under such stirring conditions that the stirring power requirement is in the range of 0.08 to 0.7 kW/m.
