Abstract

A bearing unit () for measuring forces exerted on the bearing unit, comprising an inner member () concentrically arranged around an outer member (), at least one rolling element bearing () and at least one load measuring device () with a cylindrical bore. The load measuring device () is mounted to one of the members () and supports the rolling element bearing () relatively to this member (). The rolling element bearing () is mounted to the other of the members () and supports this member () relatively to the load measuring device (). Thus, a force acting on the bearing unit is transferred from one of the inner and outer members () to the other of the inner and outer members () via the at least one load measuring device (). According to the invention, the at least one load measuring device () and the at least one rolling element bearing () are arranged laterally to each other in a radial gap between the inner and outer members ().
