Abstract

A power plant for combustion of carbonaceous fuels with COcapture, comprising a pressurized fluidized bed combustion chamber (), heat pipes (') for cooling of the combustion gas in the combustion, a direct contact cooler (), a cleaned exhaust pipe () for withdrawal of the exhaust gas from the direct contact cooler () and introduction of the cooled exhaust gas into a COabsorber (), where a lean exhaust pipe () is connected to the top of the absorber () for withdrawal of lean exhaust gas from the absorber (), and a rich absorbent pipe () is connected to the bottom of the absorber () for withdrawal of rich absorbent and introduction of the rich absorbent into a stripping column () for regeneration of the absorbent to give a lean absorbent and a COstream that is further treated to give clean CO, where a water recirculation pipe () is connected to the bottom of the direct contact cooler () for withdrawal of used cooling water and connected to the top of the direct contact cooler() reintroduction of the cooling water at the top of the direct contact cooler, wherein a heat exchanger () connected to water recycle pipes (′) for delivery and withdrawal, respectively, of cooling water to the heat exchanger, is provided in the recirculation pipe () for cooling the circulating direct contact cooler cooling water in pipe ().
