Abstract
A pressure booster () for a die casting machine, comprises a pressure booster piston () having a valve seat (), wherein the pressure booster piston () interacts with the valve seat () to form a shut-off or non-return valve (). The valve body () is displaceable to a limited extent in the axial direction (a) and can be retained hydraulically in a starting position.
