Abstract
A perimidine coupler of formula 1: where R and R' are substituents independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, Cto Calkyl or a solubilizing moiety comprising a substituted or unsubstituted Cto Chydrocarbyl group. At least one of R and R′ is not a hydrogen atom or Cto Calkyl. R″ and R′″ can be independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, Cto Calkyl groups and halogens.
