Abstract
A pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory disease or asthma comprising the extract ofas an active ingredient. The extract ofof the present invention inhibited the increase of eosinophils in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of the ovalbumin induced asthma animal model, had the activity of inhibiting the secretions of immunoglobulin and chemokine (Eotaxin) in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and blood, and inhibited the secretions of NO and TNF-α in macrophages. Therefore, the extract ofof the present invention can be effectively used as an active ingredient of a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of inflammatory disease or asthma, and of a health functional food for the prevention and improvement of inflammatory disease or asthma.
