Abstract

An exercise device () is provided with a twist cap () spaced apart from a base cap () with a resistance assembly () therebetween. The resistance assembly () includes a spring (), a rotating member () that rotates with the twist cap (), and a translating member () threadably engaged to the rotating member () and configured to variably deform the spring () due to rotation of the twist cap () in order to adjust the resistance level. An annularly pleated sidewall () and a vent means () may be included to provide a further resistance means. The exerciser compresses the twist cap () towards the base cap () to experience both compressive and bending resistance.
