Abstract
A paper sheet processing apparatus comprises a taking-in unitconfigured to take therein paper sheets, a transport unitconfigured to transport the paper sheets, a recognition unitconfigured to recognize the paper sheets, a plurality of stacking unitstoconfigured to stack the paper sheets, the paper sheets stacked in the stacking units-being able to be removed from the stacking units-, and a detection sensortoconfigured to detect whether the paper sheets have been removed from the stacking units-. When a control unitjudges that the paper sheets have been removed from the stacking unitstobased on information from the detection sensorto, the control unitoutputs removal information on the removed paper sheets or the stacking unitstofrom which the paper sheets have been removed.
