Abstract
A method for displaying images () on a display device () of a driver assistance system () in a motor vehicle () is made available. Navigation data is received by the driver assistance system (), and sensor data relating to the surroundings (to) of the motor vehicle () is acquired by at least one sensor (to) of the driver assistance system (). A control device () processes the sensor data to form a surroundings image () which shows at least a surrounding area () next to the motor vehicle ('). A map image () which is generated while taking into account the navigation data on stored map data is displayed on the display device (). Enlargement and/or zooming in of the map image () take/takes place on the display device (). After a predetermined mapping scale (zoom factor) of the map image () has been reached, there is a change from the map image () to the surroundings image (). A driver assistance system () which serves to carry out the method is also made available.
