Abstract

The present invention provides compositions comprising a vector including a nucleic acid comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a peptide having the sequence XLYQYMDDV, wherein Xis any hydrophobic amino acid. The compositions are used to induce an immune response against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
