Abstract

The present invention relates to a package for smoking articles comprising a container portion () and a lid (). The lid is hingedly connected to the containerportion () to enclose a space defined by the container portion () when the lid () is closed. The lid () includes an end portion () and a wall () extending from the end portion () that overlaps a wall () of the container portion () when closed. A flap () extends from a face of one of said walls having a free end (), and a cut-out () is formed in the other of said walls,wherein one of the cut-out () or the free end () of the flap () has a first edge () and a second edge (). The first edge is offset from the second edge such that, when the lid () is moved to a closed position, said first edge locates over the free end () of the flap () or the cut-out () before the second edge locates over the free end of the flap orthe cut-out.
