Abstract

Disclosed is a coating composition for coating polycarbonate substrates. The coating composition comprises (A) at least one radiation-curing binder, (B) nanoparticles, and (C) optionally at least one reactive diluent and/or optionally a solvent, and wherein the nanoparticles (B) comprise silicon dioxide nanoparticles , the silicon dioxide nanoparticles have a dof between 80 and 300 nm, and the silicon dioxide nanoparticles have a particle size distribution wherein less than 15% by weight of the particles have a size in the range of less than 80 nm, 75% to 95% by weight of the particles have a size in the range from 80 to 300 nm, 0% to 5% by weight of the particles have a size in the range from more than 300 to 1000 nm, and 0% to 5% by weight of the particles have a size in the range from more than 1000 nm to 10 000 nm.
