Abstract
Provided is an engine starter wherein a torsional angle θof a helical splineof an output shaftis set in such a way that a reactive force Fpof a plunger spring, which is operated to a clutch, is larger than a propulsive force F, which is operated so as to urge the clutchby a rotational force of the motorin a shaft direction along a helical splineof an output shaft, before a pinion engaging solenoidis operated. Thereby, it can be prevented that the clutchis urged in the shaft direction, so that it can be prevented without upsizing the engine starter that the pinionis protruded in the shaft direction.
