Abstract
The present invention provides a lateral flow immunoassay device for qualitative or quantitative analysis of an analyte of interest in a whole blood sample with a more rapid and accurate result. This device includes a sample receiving pad, a conjugate pad, a flow delaying pad and a wicking membrane in this order. A polycation is provided within and bound to the sample receiving pad in order to separate the red blood cell from the whole blood sample. A relation between average pore size (P) of the sample receiving pad, average pore size (P) of the conjugate pad, and average pore size (P) of the flow delaying pad is as follows: PPP
