Abstract
A method for identifying a receiver in a hearing aid of the RITE (Receiver In The Ear) type () comprises providing a hearing aid of the RITE-type (), providing said hearing aid with a receiver (), measuring the impedance of said receiver () using said hearing aid (), identifying said receiver () as one of several predetermined receiver models on basis of said impedance measurement, and issuing a message regarding the result of the identification. The invention also provides a hearing aid and a system for fitting a hearing aid. The hearing aid may comprise the means for measuring receiver impedance.
