Provided is a polyester being a polymer including a dicarboxylic acid, a rosin diol, and an epoxy compound, the rosin diol being represented by general formula (1): wherein Rand Rare independently hydrogen or methyl; L, L, and Lare independently a divalent linking group selected from the group consisting of carbonyl, ester, ether, sulfonyl, optionally substituted chain alkylenes, optionally substituted cyclic alkylenes, optionally substituted arylenes, and combinations thereof; Land Lor Land Lare optionally joined together to form a ring; and Aand Aare rosin ester groups.
