Abstract

A product, such as an insole () or the like, is formed in a mold () having mold cavities () therein. A porous insert () is placed in the cavities () and a foamable material () is introduced into the cavities (). When the material () cures, it impregnates the inserts () which makes them more rigid. The resulting insoles () thereby have a portion made up entirely of foam () and a portion made up of the insert material () rigidified by the foam ().
