Abstract
A breakeris opened when a pantographis lowered. The pantographis connected to an overhead wire. Voltage and its phase of the overhead wire are detected by a detector. Power is supplied from a power storage deviceto a tertiary windingvia a power convertersuch that a primary side of the main transformerhas the same voltage and phase as the overhead wire so as to reversely excite the main transformer. When the voltage of the main transformerhas the same phase as the voltage of the overhead wire, the breakeris turned on and then the pantographis raised, to connect the overhead wireand the main transformerto each other, thereby preventing the occurrence of an excitation inrush current to the main transformer
