Abstract
The invention provides a water-based ink for inkjet recording containing at least: a vinyl polymer particle containing an azo compound represented by Formula (1), a tautomer of the azo compound, a salt or a hydrate of the azo compound or the tautomer, or any combination thereof; a 1,2-alkylene glycol having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms; and a polyvalent alcohol that is not the 1,2-alkylene glycol and that has at most 10 carbon atoms. In Formula (1), Z represents a divalent group having a 5- to 8-membered nitrogen-containing heterocycle; Y, Y, Rand Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent; Gand Geach independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl or heterocyclic group; and Wand Weach independently represent an alkoxy group, an amino group, an alkyl group, or an aryl group.
