Provided with the following glass components: 8 to 19.5% BO, 4.5 to 9% SiO, 0 to 10% GeO, 7 to 12.5% BaO, 0 to 14% MgO, 0 to 0.4% LiO, 15 to 34% LaO, 3.5 to 10% YO, 8 to 13.5% TiO, 0 to 7% ZrO, 0 to 11% NbO, and 1 to 9% WOby weight, wherein BO/SiOis at least 1.0, LaO+YO+ZrO+NbO+WOis no more than 54%, and BO+SiO+GeO+BaO+MgO+LiO+LaO+YO+TiO+ZrO+NbO+WOis at least 98%.
