Abstract
The invention relates to an antitheft device for a motor vehicle steering column, comprising: a housing () in which a movable bolt (), configured so as to prevent the steering column from rotating, and a lock () for controlling the movement of said bolt (), are arranged; a clamping collar () configured so as to be mounted on the steering column () and having a first half-collar () rigidly connected to the housing (), and a second half-collar (): a first end () of which is pivotably mounted relative to the first half-collar () along a pivotal movement axis (A) that is substantially parallel to the steering column; and a second end () of which is configured so as to be attached to the first half-collar () when mounted on the steering column via a clamping means (). According to the invention, the second half-collar () has, on the first end () thereof, a pivotal movement holding shaft (), the first half-collar () comprising a bearing () associated with said holding shaft (), and an opening () for accessing said bearing (), and also has a means for supporting said holding shaft () in said first half-collar () opposite said bearing () so as to avoid an untimely disconnection of said half-collars (), () before being mounted on the steering column (). Said support means is configured so as to at least partially close the opening () for accessing said bearing () and to hold said shaft () in said first half-collar () opposite said bearing ().
