Abstract

A polarity reversal protection device for motor vehicles has a detection device (), a first connection element () electrically connected to a supply tap (), a second connection device () having the electrical potential of the vehicle body. In case of a polarity reversal, the first connection element () is electrically connected to the first connection element () via the detector device (). Further, the reverse polarity protection device is characterized in that a insulating layer () is provided between the first connection element () and the second connection element (), that each of the connection elements () has at least one receptacle () and that the detection device () is at least positively engaged in at least one receptacle ().
