Abstract
The invention relates to a method of operating an optical transmission system (), wherein an optical signal (s, s) is transmitted () through at least one component () of said optical transmission system () which exhibits spectral phase ripple, and wherein a phase of at least one frequency component of said optical signal (s, s) is altered () by phase influencing means () to at least partly compensate for said phase ripple of said at least one component (), whereby a phase ripple compensated signal (s) is obtained.
