Abstract

The present invention relates to an exhaust gas treatment device of a diesel engine that is capable of increasing the concentration of PM in the EGR gas, wherein an exhaust gas separatorhas electrodesandhaving different polarities from each other to allow the PM in the exhaust gasto be charged to a given polarity by means of corona discharge between the electrodesandand thus to permit a peripheral wallsurrounding the exhaust gas swirl chamberto have the electrodehaving the opposite polarity to the charged PM, and the charged PM in the exhaust gasswirling the exhaust gas swirl chamberis localizedly positioned around the peripheral wallof the exhaust gas swirl chamberthrough a centrifugal force and an electrostatic force to allow the exhaust gascontaining the localizedly positioned PM to be separated as the EGR gasand sent to a terminal end portionof the exhaust gas swirl chamber, while the exhaust gasaround the central cylinderis being separated as the emission gasand sent to the interior of the central cylinderthrough the plurality of emission gas entry holes
