Abstract

A portable telephonewith broadcast receiving function has a portable telephone device and a digital broadcast receiving apparatus. A recording format selection sectionin the digital broadcast receiving apparatus records, in a recording sectionsuch as nonvolatile semiconductor memory, any of a video signal, an audio signal and a data signal which are separated by a transport stream (TS) separating section, in accordance with a designated recording format or contents of a broadcast program, from a recording start time to a recording end time. An attempt is made to make the quantity of data signal to be recorded in the recording sectionappropriate, and diminish power consumed by a battery of the portable telephonewith broadcast receiving function.
