Abstract
A process for producing 4-hydroxybutyraldehyde comprises reacting allyl alcohol with CO/Hin a reactor in the presence of a catalyst system comprising rhodium complex and trans-1,2-bis[bis(3,5-di-n-alkylphenyl)phosphino]-cyclobutane at a pressure of about 50 psi or lower.
