Abstract

A process for condensation between at least one ≡SiOH unit and at least one ≡SiOR unit is provided. In accordance with the present invention, R=a hydrogen or a C-Chydrocarbon group optionally comprising one or more heteroatoms, and the ≡SiOH and ≡SiOR units belong to at least one identical or different (organo)silicon compound P. The process is conducted in the presence of an effective amount of at least one catalyst C, comprising a carbene. Compositions are also provided.
