Abstract

An armrest device including a stationary shaft, fixed to a seat frame, an armrest bodyin which the stationary shaftis inserted and which is rotatable, a lock springmade of a coil spring tightly wound around the stationary shaft, with one end of the coil spring serving as a stationary-side hooklocked to the armrest body, and the other end of the coil spring serving as a free-side hookA hook-supporting partthat supports the free-side hooksuch that the free-side hookis raised in the axial direction of the stationary shaft, a hook-fitting partthat enlarges the diameter of the lock springby dropping the free-side hookon the hook-supporting partdownward in the axial direction of the stationary shaft, a platefor a hook, where the plateprojects from the armrest body, and a cam memberon the stationary shaft. The cam memberhaving (1) an unlocking cam partfor unlocking the lock springby dropping the free-side hookfrom the hook-supporting partinto the hook-fitting partwhen the armrest bodyis rotated in the armrest-accommodating direction, and (2) a relocking cam partfor locking the lock springby raising the free-side hookfrom the hook-fitting partand supporting it by the hook-supporting partwhen the armrest bodyis rotated in the armrest-use direction.
