Abstract
The present embodiments relate to novel uses of MPO inhibitors and inhibitors of MPO and E-selectin binding. In some embodiments, methods are provided for treating G-CSF-induced vascular complications and associate tissue injury comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a compound that inhibits E-selectin receptor/ligand interaction or inhibits MPO activity. The inhibitors may be administered in conjunction with G-CSF therapy. The inhibitors include antibody molecules, as well as homologues, analogues and modified or derived forms thereof, including immunoglobulin fragments like Fab, F(ab')and Fv, small molecules, including peptides, oligonucleotides, peptidomimetics (including aptamers) and organic compounds (e.g., glycomimetics).
