Abstract

In a lithium-ion secondary battery (), a battery case () has sidewalls (A,B) facing toward side ends of a wound electrode body (), the side ends being at opposite lateral sides of the positive electrode sheet (), and of the sidewalls (A,B), one of the sidewalls (A) (positive-electrode-side sidewall) facing toward an uncoated portion () of the positive electrode sheet () is thicker than the other sidewall (B) (negative-electrode-side sidewall). In other words, the relationship between the thickness A of the one sidewall (A) facing toward the uncoated portion () of the positive electrode sheet () and the thickness B of the other sidewall (B) is A>B.
