Abstract

A locking device () comprising at least one locking mechanism () having a catch (), a pivotal first pawl (), and a second pawl (), with which the first pawl () can be blocked from being swiveled. The locking device () further comprises a motor-driven actuating mechanism (), which displaces at least one operating lever () in such a manner that the operating lever (), during its movement cooperates with both pawls () one after the other. The locking device is used to lock or unlock seat backs of motor vehicles.
